COMPOSER IN RESIDENCE 2017–2018

Composers are invited to apply for the position of Creative New Zealand/Jack C. Richards Composer-in-Residence at the New Zealand School of Music 2017–18.

Applicants should hold a current New Zealand passport or have been residing in New Zealand for the 12 months prior to the application deadline, and be composers of proven merit. The appointment will be for twelve months from 1 July 2017 to 31 June 2018, with a salary of NZ$50,000. Partner organisations include: Orchestra Wellington, Lilburn Residence Trust, Centre for New Zealand Music (SOUNZ), Wai-te-ata Music Press, Rattle Records, as well as numerous Wellington-based performers and ensembles who have expressed interest in working with the successful candidate.

— A portfolio of no more than 4 representative works. For notated works, please submit both scores and recordings. Upload music scores in PDF format, and recordings in either MP3, AIFF or WAV format. — A Work Proposal document (PDF or Word format).
