2010 ISCM World Music Days in Sydney

For the first time in the history of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM), its showcase of musical excellence, the World New Music Days, will be held in the Southern Hemisphere: in Sydney, Australia.
The 2010 ISCM World New Music Days presenters – the Aurora Festival and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music – will present works from each of the 52 ISCM Member sections alongside music of the Asia-Pacific region. Selected submissions will be played by Australia’s top performers. including Ensemble Offspring and the Topology ensemble. The festival will focus on chamber and choral music, and will be held from 30 April-9 May 2010.
CANZ, as the New Zealand member of the ISCM, will submit six works to be considered for performance at the 2010 World Music Days. Works must be sent to CANZ by 30 June 2009, and submission details can be found in the latest Canzonetta, and will be posted here soon. Further opportunities for young composers will be announced soon.
