CALL for Scores
All submissions should employ the following performing forces:
a) Symphony orchestra (à 3)
Duration: up to 15 minutes.
b) Women’s choir a cappella
Women’s choir with electronics
Women’s choirs and an ensemble of up to five instruments ad libitum
Eligible instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, guitar, harp, piano, percussion (small), mezzo-soprano, baritone, two violins, violoncello, and double bass.
Duration: up to 10 minutes.
c) Ensemble of 1–9 instruments ad libitum, with or without electronics
Any combination of the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, guitar, harp, piano, percussion (small), mezzo-soprano, baritone, two violins, viola, violoncello, and double bass.
Duration: up to 10 minutes.
d) Soprano, mezzo-soprano, and baritone (solo or any combination thereof), with or without electronics
Soprano, mezzo-soprano, and baritone (solo or any combination thereof) and an instrumental ensemble of up to four instruments ad libitum.
Available instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, guitar, harp, piano, percussion (small), mezzo-soprano, baritone, two violins, viola, violoncello, and double bass.
Duration: up to 8 minutes.
Submission is free and it is not anonymous.
Individual authors may submit pieces in multiple categories, but no more than two works in total.
In adherence to the Statute of the International Review of Composers, only works written over the past three years will be considered. Eligible applicants include authors, performers, associations, and national author societies.
Submissions should include the following:
1) score;
2) recording (if possible);
3) short biography (up to 150 words).
The authors of pieces selected for performance will be obliged to submit complete performance materials, including the following:
1) the parts;
2) electronic realisations (for electro-acoustic pieces);
3) one photograph;
4) biography (up to 150 words);
5) programme note (up to 150 words).
Preferably, all scores should be submitted via email, in PDF.
Online submissions should be made available by the end of February 2017.
The deadline for competition applications is 20 October 2016 (CET).
